Digital Computer:

A Digital Computer is a computing machine that processes data using the binary number system (0 and 1).

A Digital System is any system that processes discrete (digital) signals rather than continuous (analog) signals.

  • It uses binary digits to store, process, and transmit data.
  • A digital computer is a type of digital system.
  • Other digital systems include: digital watches, digital cameras, digital signal processors, etc.

Advantages of Digital System:

  • Simple Operation
  • Low Noise
  • Fabrication(process to make IC)
  • Easy storage
  • Easy to use
  • Less error
  • Easy to learn
  • Variety of digital IC

• Disadvantages of Digital System:-

  • Requires large bandwidth
  • More complex
  • Quantization noise is available
