BIMSTEC

The Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) is a regional organization formed in 1997 to promote cooperation among countries around the Bay of Bengal.

3. Strengthen Connectivity

Improve transport, communication, and energy connectivity across the region.

4. Promote Technological and Scientific Cooperation

Share technologies, innovations, and research among members.

5. Boost Trade and Investment

Develop a free-trade area and reduce trade barriers within the region.

6. Coordinate on Security Issues

Work together on counter-terrorism, cyber security, disaster management, and energy security.

7. Promote People-to-People Contact

Strengthen cultural exchange, tourism, and human resource development.
